The River City Artsfest is now in its sixth year. Until 2015 it was organised and run through Impressions Custom Framing and Art Supplies by the owner Kris Sand with the help of volunteers. The event grew in scope and stature and in 2015 it was registered as a not for profit organisation
Under the newly formed board of directors the festival attracted local commercial sponsorship for the first time that allowed for the development and coordination of more activities for the 2015 event presentation. However this in turn presented the board with new challenges and lessons to be learnt for this year.
A new board of directors has come together for 2017, tasked with developing and improving the organisation for the staging of the 2017 River City ArtsFest.
The festival is located in the downtown core of Campbell River on Vancouver Island and showcases the work of local artists who are clearly inspired by the breathtaking scenery to be found here, this is often reflected in their creative endeavours.
The traditional artists street market to be held on Saturday 22 July during which the streets are closed to traffic allowing visitors to wander at leisure through this artistic marketplace, being entertained by street performers and musicians, getting involved through interactive arts events as well as an opportunity to experience the delights of the local cuisine.
The 2017 River City ArtsFest is an enjoyable day out for both young and old, providing a high visibility marketplace for the participating artists.
